With all the grains produced in Saskatchewan, it is not surprising that microbreweries are numerous and popular there. Here are some good places, located near the Alt Hotel Saskatoon, that serve excellent local beers.
Located on the popular 20th Avenue, this microbrewery is the perfect place to have a drink with friends or colleagues after work in a relaxed atmosphere with a lot of beers on tap. In the summer, cyclists can enjoy a beer on the bicycle patio in front of the brewery.
This restaurant with a large dining room offers a wide selection of tap and bottled beers as well as some gluten-free options. Ask for a seat in their comfortable sofa-chairs or benches.
This is the place to go for a beer and watch a football game (why not cheer on the Saskatchewan Roughriders while you’re there?). Arrive before 18h to enjoy their offers on beer and snacks. Must try: their excellent pickled fries and fried pickles. Decadent.
Here is what happens when a microbrewery joins forces with a former food truck: it becomes a place where we can have a good beer accompanied by tacos. Let’s be honest, it’s the perfect happy hour combination! Arrive early, there are only a few places and the place fills up very quickly.
A few local beers to try:
Prairie White by Great Western
Wheat Burst by Black Bridge
Hefeweizen by 9-Mile
NE IPA by Shelter
